Klasse 2me – A Million Dreams
We spent our week in a beautiful house in the mountains near Adelboden and our theme was A Million Dreams. We arrived at our destination around noon and began to settle in. On our way there we also met another class, whose house was situated just above ours and we exchanged contacts; we have been in touch ever since.
We kicked this week off with a bit of singing since it was a music and English week. In the evening we all had dinner together, which one of the previously decided groups of students had prepared. Afterwards we were introduced to our projects. Each of the groups was assigned to do a little musical revolving around dreams. Whenever we had free time, we spent it playing basketball, soccer or even just playing the guitar and singing outside. Board games like DOG and UNO were also very popular as evening entertainment. Students as well as teachers loved to participate. At 11 o’clock it was time to get back inside, and everyone got ready for bed. Lights were out by 11:30 pm.
The next morning, we were all spoiled with a delicious breakfast, which was made by the group who had cooked the night before. The sun shining between the mountains and the fresh air really made mornings special. After breakfast we separated into our groups again and continued to work on the musicals and exchanged plans and ideas. We were also introduced to the art of improvisation and learned how a good story is created.
On Wednesday morning we went on a hike to Adelboden and the Cholerenschlucht, and it was beautiful. The nature is stunning up here and I would advise everyone to go see it. When we returned home there were freshly baked cookies waiting for us. We ate dinner and carried on playing games. We also watched The Greatest Showman that evening. The movie was really good. All were kind of tired from the hike, so we went to bed early.
That’s when Thursday came around. We started the day rehearsing our musicals one last time and had lunch. After dinner it was finally time to present our musicals; they all turned out amazing and we had a great time. The different approaches to the set theme were inspiring.
On Friday it was sadly time to pack our things. We left our house and made our way back to Frauenfeld. It was a great learning experience that we are very thankful for, but we are also glad to be back.
